About the Event

In respect to the necessary practice of "physical distancing through social solidarity", Asian Solidarity Collective moves forward in meeting where the people are at online by offering our Asian Solidarity Collective members and community allies a place to check-in, connect and collectively gather together to hold space for one another during these uncertain times. Join us for a special edition on Monday July 6th from 12pm - 1pm PST (or even longer if we need to) for our solidarity monthly virtual gathering and check-in. RSVP via asiansolidarity@gmail.com for zoom details. This month we will be featuring a special zine-making workshop with Stacey Uy (Bio below) from the Radical History Club. Propaganda Party: Zine-Making for the Movement Get to know the history and role of independent newspapers and zines in social justice work, and learn how to make your own mini-zine to be in service to the movement. Materials: 8.5”x11” or larger piece of paper, paper for notes, something to write with, and any art supplies you like. It can be markers, stickers, colored pencils, even just sharpies. Bio: Stacey is a graphic designer, illustrator, and zinemaker. She writes and creates the illustrated history zine Radical History Club, which seeks to decolonize our perspectives of US history.
