No Funding On Policing In San Diego

The proposed 2022 Fiscal Year budget released by Mayor Todd Gloria, on April 15, 2021, does not reflect the needs of the San Diego community. At numerous city council meetings constituents have demanded the defunding of police and reinvestment into our communities, but this is not demonstrated in the budget. Instead last month, Mayor Gloria proposed a $4.6 million budget that would increase police funding and decrease funding to community services, such as decreasing library funding. Increasing police funding is anti-Black and will only further harm all San Diego communities. Read the full statement here.
